Who am I?

I have a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling (University of Cambridge) and am a registered member of the UKCP working towards full accreditation. I have worked with young people for over 20 years in different contexts and am passionate about working with families alongside the therapy.

I am an integrative therapist who draws on a range of counselling and psychotherapeutic theories to adapt my approach in the best interests of the client.  During the work, I think about the emotional responses and behaviour in the art or play, whilst naming feelings and carefully attending to what a young person says. I focus on building a secure relationship with the client through my caring, empathic and warm approach and work to create a safe space where they can explore and work through difficulties they are experiencing. When using the arts, I use images, metaphor, sand tray work and play as modes of expression, working with the client's presenting issues.
